PC News from N4G | Champions Online
PC - Champions Online - Ask Cryptic - January 6, 2009 Cryptic Studios writes, " Will there be power collision? As in if two "beam" powers collide will there be some kind of effect? One overpowers the other, or there is some kind of struggle? (TruthSeer)

While the idea of players being able to intercept enemy powers with their own powers is founded in some great comic book examples, we simply don't have the kind of technology available to have powers clash. If we were able to harness that kind of power on our PCs, it would equate to dividing by zero and the earth imploding.

Will the Arch Villain creation system be as in depth as the Hero creation system, making it twice as long (and twice as fun)? (jhonderbler)

The Nemesis system has several elements in common with the way a hero is created, but it also has some key differences. You use the same costume creation system, which allows you to have a very defined and specific look for your nemesis. We found with CoV that players often want their bad guys to look good and their good guys to look bad. Powers are selected from a wide variety of established power templates to allow us to create arch-enemies with the best balance possible. You then get to choose a lot of things that are specifically designed for your Nemesis, such as personality, motivation, and minion types /costumes / powers..."

PC News from N4G | Everquest
PC - Everquest - EverQuest cleaning house with server merges and character changes Via Massively: "Sony Online Entertainment has sent out a customer service notification to EverQuest players, dealing with some changes that will potentially affect your account(s). Perhaps the biggest news is an impending server merge -- 'The Combine' and 'Druzzil Ro (Xev)' servers will merge on January 21 at 3 a.m. PST, a process which is expected to last roughly five hours. The new server will retain the name 'Druzzil Ro.' While server merges tend to be portents of doom and gloom by some players, EverQuest will also add a new server in March. PC News from N4G | BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams
PC - BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams - New Big Daddy for Bioshock 2 Seeming that Bioshock 2 is going to be mostly a prequel. One of the greatest things too look forward to is what to expect of the Big Daddy.

Probably the most noticeable change that the "New Daddy" has is the helmet, it only has three sight holes, and they are all forward facing. Whereas the old Big Daddy's helmet has multiple sight holes and they give multiple angles of sight.

PC News from N4G | World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
PC - World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Warcraft Critic Resigns from FCC Early Spong Write: She's like Abraham Lincoln you know.

Debra Taylor Tate has resigned from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) - the US government agency charged with "regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable".

Debra who? Yes, we thought you'd ask that. Last year she stated that we might all, "find it alarming that one of the top reasons for college drop-outs in the U.S. is online gaming addiction - such as World of Warcraft - which is played by 11 million individuals worldwide."

Yes, Ms Tate blamed computer game addiction for college drop-out rates. She did so in a speech with no actual facts or studies to back her up. Her resignation speech was almost as revolting as that lack of responsibility - but in more of a nausea inducing manner. Although you can read the full speech here... you might not want to based on the following extract.
